Legal eagle seminar series

The Legal Eagle seminar series is designed to present short seminars (most are one hour) on legal topics of critical relevance to the public sector.  Seminars are delivered by qualified lawyers specialising in the area of law on which they present. Currently all presenters are members of the DLA Piper Australia law firm, but other firms may be represented in future.

About the speakers

Scott Alden is a Partner at DLA Piper Australia and is a recognised expert in the areas of probity, procurement as well as providing legal advice to local, NSW and Commonwealth Governments. Scott has acted as lead procurement and probity advisor on a range of government projects including disposals, acquisitions, infrastructure and construction projects.  

Alec Christie is a Partner at DLA Piper Australia who advises private and public sector clients in respect of intellectual property (IP) and information technology (IT), including commercialisation of IP and procurement and outsourcing of IT.  Through the course of assisting clients, Alec has gained significant expertise in navigating the myriad of legal issues relating to privacy, data security, SPAM/electronic marketing, ecommerce and use of Web 2.0/social media.
