Networking opportunities

IPAA NSW provides members with many important opportunities to meet and network with colleagues in the public sector, business community and academia. All of our events enable members to network with other public sector professionals.

IPAA NSW also conducts the Practitioners’ Network, comprising Special Interest Groups (SIGs), the Young Professionals Network and Regional Networks. These groups host meetings and events throughout the year on specific areas of interest – and are always pleased to welcome new members.

Special Interest Groups

People, Performance and Culture
The People, Performance and Culture SIG is concerned with developing organisational capacity within the public sector. It looks at human resources, professional development and cultural change.

Social Media – New SIG currently being formed – Register your interest now
The Social Media SIG is interested in citizen engagement through web 2.0 technologies.  It will explore Facebook, Blogs, Wikis and other technologies that Government can use to improve community engagement. Several events have already been held or are in the planning stage.

Shared Services – New SIG formed – Register your interest now
The Shared Services SIG is concerned with the provision of finance, procurement, human resources, facilities management and other shared services. The group will share experiences and look at best practice across Australia and overseas.  Several events have already been held or are in the planning stage.

Sustainability - New SIG currently being formed – Register your interest now
The Sustainability SIG is concerned with the provision of sustainable solutions to solver problems in each of the Triple Bottom Line areas - economic, environmental, and social/cultural.

Networks

Young Professionals Network
The Young Professionals Network is a group of members who work together to identify areas that will support the professional and personal development of tomorrow’s public sector leaders. It arranges events of special interest to those members who are 34 years of age and under.

Western Sydney Regional Network 
The Western Sydney Regional Network caters especially for those members of IPAA NSW working or living in Western Sydney. The group's focus is on matters of interest to public sector professionals in this area.

North Coast Regional Network
The North Coast Regional Network aims to cater especially for those members of IPAA NSW working or living on the NSW North Coast. The group's focus is on matters of interest to public sector professionals in this area.
