ABOUT THIS EVENT 


This is an opportunity to hear a senior public servant reflect on the achievements and challenges faced by the NSW public sector in 2019 and offer their view on the big issues in 2020.

This event is part of IPAA NSW’s strategy to provide our members and supporters with the opportunity to directly engage with the big ideas that underpin public administration. 
 
WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND

This event allows you to hear directly from the leader of the NSW public service, and someone with a unique perspective on the performance of the sector. It is also a chance to get a head start in thinking about 2020 and build your understanding about the issues that will shape our work environment.

All IPAA events include purposeful networking which allows you to:

SPEAKER

Tim Reardon
Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet


Tim Reardon is the Secretary of the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet. Since taking up the role in 2017, he has led delivering of the Government’s priorities, for the people of NSW, including customer service, driving digital technology, infrastructure delivery and transformation of the public service, with a strong focus on implementation and accountability.

Prior to Premier and Cabinet, Tim was the Secretary, Transport where he successfully led the Transport Cluster and its people on behalf of the NSW community. Tim was responsible for the delivery of the largest transport infrastructure and services pipeline, in a generation.

Tim has worked in both government and the private sector in NSW and internationally. He is a ‘Condo-boy’ from Central West NSW and lives in Sydney with his wife and two daughters.

Margaret Crawford FIPAA
Auditor-General of New South Wales


Margaret Crawford is a Fellow of the Institute and a respected, accomplished and experienced leader of large, complex public sector organisations having worked at a CEO/COO/Deputy Secretary level for some 20+ years.

Margaret is currently the Auditor-General of New South Wales. Prior to her taking up this position, she was the Deputy Secretary Corporate Services for the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS).

Margaret’s career has been with the Commonwealth Government, two State Governments and with Australia’s largest local government. Margaret has a track record of success in a diverse range of sectors, housing and homelessness, community and disability services, transport policy and regulation, taxation administration, corporate services and gaming regulation. While varied, her key focus in each role has been to transform and improve outcomes for customers, often the most vulnerable citizens in the community.

Payments

Payment is required prior to attending the event or course. Please contact an IPAA NSW staff member if an exception is required.

Payments - Online Events

If you have an outstanding invoice for the event, you will not receive a link to the live event. 

Online Events

Only people registered to the event can access the content. Do not share login details with people who have not registered to the event

Cancellation policy - Events
  • Cancellation must be in writing and confirmed by an IPAA NSW staff member
  • Cancellation received more than 10 business days prior to the event – no penalty will be incurred
  • Cancellation received within 6-10 business days of the event – 50% of the fee is payable
  • Cancellation received less than 6 business days prior to the event – 100% of the fee is payable
  • No show – 100% of the fee is payable
  • Registrations received less than 6 business days prior to the event are non-refundable.

  • Cancellation must be in writing and confirmed by an IPAA NSW staff member

Cancellation policy - Self-paced Courses
  • Cancellations are not permitted.

Note: If you do not cancel and do not attend and event or course, 100% of the fee must be paid.

Transfer policy - Events
  • All requests for transfers must be in writing
  • Substitute nominees may attend in your place where deemed appropriate; however, if a member wishes to substitute a non-member in their place the full fee will be payable.
Transfer policy - Scheduled Courses
  • All requests for transfers must be in writing
  • Your course registration can be transferred to another course without penalty if requested more than 10 business days prior to the course start date. Otherwise, the above cancellation policy applies. Transfers can only be requested when the course fee has been paid in full.
  • Transferring your registration to another person can be done at any time without penalty if nominee details are provided within a minimum of 2 business days prior to the course start date. Transferring from a member to a non-member will result in a fee increase in line with the non-member course fee.
Transfer policy - Self-paced Courses 
  • Transfers to another course are not allowed for self-paced courses.
We may in our discretion waive cancellation charges in exceptional circumstances, but we will not waive cancellation charges on account of work commitments.

Program Changes

IPAA NSW reserves the right to change programs/speakers/venue, or to cancel programs if the enrolment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond our control prevail. All registrants will be notified in the event of cancellation and their registration fee will be refunded.
