NSW Government Strategic Workforce Planning Masterclass

NSW Government Strategic Workforce Planning Masterclass

About the Masterclasses

The Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) Masterclasses have been established by the NSW Public Service Commission and are delivered in partnership with IPAA NSW.

The masterclasses are facilitated by Alex Hagan, the Founder and CEO at Kienco. Alex works with governments and global organisations to build their future workforce through Strategic Workforce Planning and Workforce Data Science. Course graduates will earn a Certificate in NSW Government Strategic Workforce Planning from Kienco upon completion of the course.

The course introduces the discipline and principles of the Strategic Workforce Planning Framework by:

- Providing detailed NSW Government case studies and examples of each part of the methodology;
- Demonstrating approaches that will allow participants to contribute in a very tangible way to their organisational success; and
- Providing an opportunity to collaborate with peers on addressing the challenges facing government in a time of unprecedented change

This course is intended for practitioners developing strategic workforce planning initiatives within their own agencies. Attendees will learn how to:

- Align workforce strategy to organisational strategy;
- Identify where targeted HR Initiatives deliver the highest strategic return on investment;
- Perform organisational analysis using workforce analytics;
- Identify and take advantage of the workforce, consumer, and economic dynamics shaping the organisation of tomorrow;
- Exploring alternate futures through strategic futuring and scenario planning;
- Close the gaps between the workforce of today and the preferred workforce of the future; and
- Engage the business in workforce strategy.
