As Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Michael leads the work of the NSW public sector in delivering on the NSW Government's commitments and priorities.


Michael Coutts-Trotter - Full bio

Michael Coutts-Trotter is one of NSW’s most experienced public sector leaders. As Secretary of the Department of Premier and Cabinet, he leads the work of the NSW public sector in delivering on the NSW Government's commitments and priorities.

He has held Secretary-level positions in the NSW public sector for almost 15 years and has led the (then) Departments of Finance and Services, Education and Training, and Families and Community Services, and Communities and Justice.

His well-documented personal story is extraordinary and it has given him real-life insights into the importance of public services that can reach the most marginalised members of the community.
