Working in Government: Commissioner Conversations

Explore how integrity shapes the future of public service in this conversation with the NSW Ombudsman.

Lawful, fair, transparent and accountable decision-making underpins public confidence, but what does that look like in the everyday work of government?

In this one-hour online conversation with Paul Miller, NSW Ombudsman, you will explore:
the purpose and functions of the NSW Ombudsman
how independent oversight contributes to better public administration
the responsibilities shared across the public sector in upholding accountability
what the next chapter of public sector integrity and oversight may look like

What You Will Gain?

Practical insight into how complaints function as intelligence
A deeper understanding of how the Ombudsman’s work improves systems, and its work supporting agencies, not
        just resolves individual matters
How agencies and organisation can deliver fairness, transparency and sound decision-making
A forward-looking perspective on how public trust will be built — and tested — in the years ahead
