The Skills for Success series of learning workshops are designed to help you develop the foundational skills you need to succeed in your public sector career.

What will you gain?

This series will give you the tools to thrive in our changing working environment. Designed in collaboration with your public sector leaders, our six-part series covers topics that help you do your job more successfully and knowledge to support you to manage better in your job.

Each one-hour workshop will feature a foundational-level overview of the skill and actionable strategies you can implement today to further develop your capabilities.

For mid-career managers and directors and those who aspire to leadership, don’t miss Cracking the code of employee engagement and retention to be held in February 2023. This session has been specifically designed to address the challenges and opportunities of managing others.

What to expect

Skills for Success Series 2 will be held over six one-hour sessions over 12 months.

• Wednesday 1 February 2023 - Directors Seminar: Cracking the code of employee engagement and retention (This session has been postponed to the 1st March 2023)
Explore how you can leverage recognition and reward for stronger engagement and retention in your team.


• Tuesday 14 February 2023 - Managing Change
Understand the basics of how you can manage change, regardless of your career stage or specialisation.


• Tuesday 14 March 2023 - Turning data into stories
Polish your storytelling nous and bring your data to life.


• Wednesday 7 June 2023 - Writing for government
Brush up on your skills writing briefs, ministerial, and writing in plain English.
