Michael Coutts-Trotter is one of NSW’s most experienced public sector leaders. As the Secretary of Treasury, he leads the work of the public sector in developing economic policy and reform, and delivering on the NSW government's commitments and priorities.

 

He has held Secretary-level positions in the NSW public sector for 15 years and has led the (then) Departments of Premier and Cabinet, Finance and Services, Education and Training, and Families and Community Services, and Communities and Justice.

 

His well-documented personal story is extraordinary and it has given him real-life insights into the importance of public services that can reach the most marginalised members of the community.
