Over two half-day sessions, you will be given the knowledge to develop text that tells a story and make data meaningful for diverse audiences.
This hand-on workshop includes lots of opportunities to apply your knowledge to your own data sets and develop new ways of communicating to take back to your workplace.
Effective communications skills were identified by the NSW public sector leaders as one of the [Skills for Success]. This course builds on the foundations developed in [IPAA’s one hour webinar].
What will you learn?
You will finish this course knowing you can:
- Present complex information using visual devices such as charts, tables and graphs.
- Understand how and when to integrate statistics into documents.
- Avoid misleading audiences when presenting graphs and visual representations.
- Use text and images to communicate concepts in a logical and compelling manner.
- Understand the principles that underpin how professionals communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Telling compelling stories with data is for people at the Foundational to Intermediate level and you will develop the following capabilities:
