Skills for Success: Data Analytics in Action

Data based decision-making relies on the ability to transform raw information into clear insights. In this Skills for Success session, you’ll step into a real scenario with a dataset provided before the session so you can play along and learn how to uncover the story it tells.

Note: To make the most of this follow along skills, please make sure you have 2 screens and beginner to intermediate Excel skills. A video post session will be available if you would prefer to just sit back and absorb.

Together we’ll explore the essential stages of analysis – from preparing and cleansing data to applying a range of practical techniques, including:

• Understanding the composition of data

• Ranking observations

• Identifying growth, trends, and volatility over time

• Identifying differences between actual and expected results

Participants will work through a prepared spreadsheet containing the dataset, formulas, and analytical methods – a practical resource you can take away and apply directly in your own work.

This session is designed to boost your confidence in using data, helping you move beyond numbers to insights that inform strategy, improve outcomes, and strengthen decision-making.
